HHIDM stands with the people of Nepal following the devastating tragedy affecting communities across the country. The Honourable Minister of Peace has extended the deepest compassion of the Mission to every family grieving the loss of a loved one, to every person injured or displaced, to those who have lost their homes and livelihoods, and especially to the children and elders facing fear and uncertainty.
If you know of individuals or families who require urgent assistance, or if you have humanitarian assistance you wish to offer, please first contact the official emergency and rescue authorities operating in Nepal.

How You Can Help, Even From Far Away
Not everyone can travel to the place of a tragedy, and not everyone can make a financial contribution. But every one of us can give something.
Give Your Time
Volunteer where you live. An hour given locally is worth more than an hour intended and never spent.
Give Your Ears and Listen
Listening costs nothing, yet it can be one of the greatest gifts one human being gives another.
Offer a Skill or Resources
Medical knowledge, transportation, equipment, supplies or professional services. Write to the Office above and describe what you are able to provide.
Visit Someone Near You
An elder with no one to visit them. A child who would treasure thirty minutes of your time. A neighbour struggling quietly.
Tell Someone Who Can Act
If you know of a person or family who needs urgent assistance, pass the information to the authorities listed above. Please do not remain silent if you can help someone.
Give a Kind Word, or a Smile
These acts may appear small. They are not small to the person receiving them. You do not need wealth to be compassionate, nor a title to serve humanity.
Wherever you are, do one compassionate thing today. One helping hand. One listening ear. One kind word. One smile. It may cost you nothing. But to another human being, it may mean everything.
